Burlington Capital Management Ltd. is an Ontario corporation which manages investment products geared to sophisticated investors. Headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, about 40 minutes west of Toronto on Lake Ontario, the company is run by Allan Brown and Geoff Barth.
Burlington Capital Management Ltd.'s first fund Burlington Partners1 LP was launched on January 4th, 2005.
Burlington Partners1 LP is a Long/Short equity hedge fund geared to sophisticated investors. The fund invests in all sectors in North America with the objective of providing our investors with superior absolute returns measured over a complete market cycle and to do so with a much reduced level of volatility as compared to the market.
Burlington Capital Management Ltd.'s objective is to generate consistent absolute performance on an annual basis regardless of the market environment and to carefully preserve capital.
Burlington Capital Management Ltd.'s portfolio management team of Allan and Geoff has worked together for more than ten years at three different investment firms prior to forming Burlington Capital Management Ltd. They share an investment philosophy on how to manage portfolios, evaluate companies and make disciplined investment decisions. Continuity is certainly a key asset at Burlington Capital Management.
Between them Allan and Geoff have over 30 years combined investment management experience. Both managers have managed a number of investment funds in a variety of asset classes. Allan and Geoff at one time managed a combined $6 billion in assets, including the largest Science & Technology fund and one of the largest Canadian Equity funds in Canada.
In addition, prior to Burlington Partners1 LP, Allan and Geoff have successfully launched eight mutual funds in Canada and one hedge fund in New York City. Co-managing a hedge fund in New York City was an invaluable experience in a market that is extremely competitive, sophisticated and efficient. The relationships developed and the knowledge and experience gained during that period were invaluable to the managers in managing Burlington Partners1 LP.
The managers believe that the ability to invest both in the Canadian and US markets is a big advantage allowing for a greater pool of investment opportunities, enhanced diversification and a better scope for the overall market trends. |
